Professor Cristina D. Ramirez, MPA, MSLS, MA is a Library Manager I of the new Henrico County Public Library, the Varina Area Library. She is a published academic author, writer, national speaker and presenter as well as a doctoral student in Educational Leadership from UNE. She is currently an adjunct professor of Library & Information Studies at ODU and previously at CUA. She has been teaching, presenting, and speaking on issues of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Libraries and government services for over a decade. She serves on the Board of Directors, Richmond Chapter for the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities and is a member of Leadership Metro Richmond, Class 2008 and the Community Trustbuilding Fellowship for Initiatives of Change, Class of 2015. She has previously served on various Board of Directors and Executive roles for Library Associations, i.e. ALA Councilor-at-Large for over a decade, and local non-profits. Currently she serves as one of the Commissioners appointed by the Mayor for the newly created Richmond Human Rights Commission & the Board of the Richmond Young Writers. She is multilingual and spends as much time as she can in her other house in Spain every year with her family.
